Transforming Teaching Through Technology

This website sponsored by the Jordan ISD in Utah provided a wonderful listing of resources for teachers in many subject areas. I explored several of the suggested resources recommended for social studies and found the directions to be easy to follow and the resources very informative. The site included videos that demonstrated teaching techniques for introducing, reviewing, and teaching of content in innovative ways. Although not all of the resources involved the use of technology, the majority did in one way or another. The site also provided multiple links to other sites that also explored the use of several different mediums for presenting information to students and engaging them in activities that would liven up lessons.
I found this to be a credible source of information that was presented in an easy to navigate and understand format. Some of the information was not relevant to the use of technology; but overall, I would still recommend this site to any teacher seeking new ideas for the classroom. Although I explored the avenues related to social studies, other areas of study are also addressed by the site; therefore, it would be a useful site for any curricular area. New teachers would particularly find this site to be helpful because it contained many lesson plans laid out in clear, precise language along with all materials needed to present the lesson.
